# How to Join # How to Join The Hull Seals ## Welcome! ### We're glad to see you have an interest in joining us. Joining the Seals is more than just slapping a repair limpet controller on your ship. We pride ourselves on the quality of our Seals, and so require a few steps before you can become a fully-fledged member. On this page, we'll go through everything you need to know in order to become one of Elite's most dedicated providers: A Hull Seal. ### Step 1: Register Your first step on the journey toward becoming a Seal is to register on our site. Making an account ensures that we can credit you for your rescues, as well as provide useful services and tools to you. To register, simply go to [https://hullse.al/register](https://hullse.al/register), and make an account. After registration, you will receive an email asking you to verify your account from noreply@hullseals.space. Click on the link in the email to verify your account. Note that verification links are only valid for 24 hours, but you can request a new one by logging into your account using the menu on our main page. You should only make one account on our site. Any Alternate Names (such as multiple accounts) will all be associated with your account via our profile section. So speaking of... ### Step 2: Fill Out your Profile In order to feed your CMDR information into our database, and add your name to our paperwork and other forms, you need to complete some fields on our website. From your profile (which you can find [here](https://hullseals.space/users/account.php)), You must fill out the "My CMDRs" section. You should also take this time to register a few IRC names, available through the same link. These will be explained in greater detail during your basic training. Optionally, however, a fun thing to do is register some of your ships to get your own unique Seal Ship Registry Code. This is just for fun, and is not required. ### Step 3: Basic Training To ensure that all of our Seals are trained and ready to respond to any hull emergency, we have a two-step training process. In order to be trained, currently, you must join our Seal server. Once you have done so, following the instructions in Step 4. To sign up for training, add your name to the form, found at [http://hullse.al/tSignUp](http://hullse.al/tSignUp).

In order to complete your virtual and in-game drills, it is required that you know and are familiar with our Standard Operating Procedures, or SOPs. The most up-to-date copies can be found at all times by visiting our Knowledge Base, at [https://hullse.al/SOP](https://hullse.al/SOP).

Are you a Fuel Rat looking to join? Check out our [Advanced Otter Pipeline](https://hullseals.space/knowledge/books/how-to-join/page/accelerated-otter-pipeline) training route! Simply let your Trainer know that you're a Fuel Rat!

### Step 4: Joining our Communities In order to be assigned cases, and to complete your drill, you are required to be logged in to our Hull Seals IRC server. You can find information as to how to connect to our IRC server in our [IRC and Connection Information Section](https://hullseals.space/knowledge/books/irc) of the knowledge base! All cases, and training, take place in our IRC server. However, we also maintain an optional Discord presence for social life if that's to your interest! #### The Seal Server To interact with the Hull Seals social community, you can join our Hull Seals Basking Cove Discord server. The link to join the server is [https://hullseals.space/SuperSecretDiscordLink](https://hullseals.space/SuperSecretDiscordLink). Add the Trainee role in the `#Botspam` channel, and read through the informational channels. Be sure to say hello to the Seals in our general chat, and feel free to ask questions. You'll find knowledgeable, friendly CMDRs willing to help you. ### Step 5: Your Drill After registering for your drill, be sure to keep an eye on your email! You will receive an email to confirm your lesson, with the date, time, and location in-game of your drill or training. After attending and passing both parts of your training, you'll be granted full access to all sections of our social server (if applicable), and all the privileges as a member of the Hull Seals. ### Step 6: ARF! Congrats, CMDR! You've passed your drill and are now a fully registered Seal. After being trained, log in to the IRC server and wait for calls. While not incredibly common, the service you have volunteered to provide is essential for many CMDRs, and even being there as the safety net is a great service. Keep an eye out for cases, enjoy the community, eat lots and lots of fish, and most importantly, HAVE FUN! We look forward to seeing you star-side, CMDR. # Accelerated Otter Pipeline

The Accelerated Otter Pipeline is not operated by, endorsed by, or in any way affiliated with The Fuel Rat Mischief

The Accelerated Otter Pipeline is a method for fully-trained Fuel Rats to receive advanced, accelerated progress through our training system to allow speedier cross-training with Hull Seal processes and systems. It is an alternate pathway that established, case-experienced Fuel Rats can use to achieve full Hull Seal training status. #### Purpose Fuel Rats and Hull Seals share a significant number of factors across their operations, organizations, and missions. From familiarity with IRC, to how the various in-game wing systems can be leveraged to establish meetups, it is only in a few short, significant portions where our services differ in terminology and execution. This pathway is designed to lower the barrier to entry for Rats to become fully-qualified Seals. This accelerated pathway endeavors to streamline the training system into a single lesson, bypassing a number of the baseline minutia common to both organizations. #### Requirements In order to be eligible for the AOP, applicants must be an established Fuel Rat with more than 10 “First Limpet” rescues. These rescues must be validated on the Fuel Rats public dashboard, located [here](https://fuelrats.com/leaderboard "Fuel Rat Public Dashboard"). Fuel Rats who do not fulfill this requirement must take standard Hull Seal training. #### Differences in Lessons The AOP program focuses on a number of key differences that separate Fuel Rat operations from Hull Seal ops. It isn't just as simple as throwing a new limpet controller on and calling it a day. We streamline the training into one lesson, focusing on IRC fluency, command and fact familiarity, SOP differences, and other Seal-Specific differences, as established by our training corps. Most Rats being Cross-Trained into Seals find the differences easy to understand and adopt in no time! If the Rat successfully completes the AOP pathway, they will be considered Fully-Trained Seals, and receive the coveted title of Otter - what we call Seals who are also trained Rats. Otters are some of the most capable Seals we have at our disposal, and we are always looking for more to join our ranks! #### Interested? If you're interested in the program, simply sign up for Seal Training as usual and inform your Trainer that you're a Fuel Rat who wants to take part in the program! They'll get you set up and going from there.
